Hamartoma of Endobronchial Origin

Abstract
Although pulmonary hamartoma were relatively common among the benign tumors of lung, hamartoma of endobronchial origin is extremely rare. From the clinical and radiographical viwpoints, hamartoma of endobronchial origin is similar to a bronchial adenoma. And so diagnosis can be made only after microscopic examination.
Recently, we have experienced one case of endobronchial hamartoma combining with bronchiectasis.
The patient, a 36-year-old woman, was admitted to our hospital with severe coughing, dyspnea and prulent sputum production. Bronchogram on the right has disclosed filling defect with irregular surface at the bifurcation between upper lobe and intermediate bronchial mass moved in the bronchial¢¥ lumen at respirations, and appeared a bronchiectasis in the entire bronchi except for apical segmental bronchus. Right pneumonectomy was performed. Pathological diagnosis was benign endobronchial hamartoma.
